We’re Going to Vegas!
My daughter is turning 21 next week and we decided to celebrate by having a Mother-Daughter long weekend in Las Vegas. This was not my first choice. I have never been to Las Vegas, nor have I ever had any desire to go there for three reasons: 1. The Glitz. I am as big a fan of the “Rat Pack,” as any other Italian-American growing up in the 60’s, but the whole blinking lights, cigarette smoke, and cocktail waitresses walking around casinos with big hair and not-so-big costumes, just has no appeal to me. 2. I usually can’t make it past 10 pm. From what I understand, there may be some things going on in Sin City after my bedtime—like everything. I assume I’ll miss some things. 3. I’m cheap as dirt. “Put it all on the Ace of Spades,” is a sentence, I can assure you, will never come out of my mouth. So why are we going? It was not for a lack of trying other options.
